The Greater Chicago Damage Prevention has created an Excavator's Manual.  The manual covers things that excavator's need to know in the City of Chicago such as DIGGER and permit requirements, best excavating practices and Illinois Underground Facility Protection requirements.  This book can be downloaded and printed by clicking on the picture of the manual.  Hard copies can be requested by completing and submitting the request form at the bottom of this page.
